Garden Answers Plant Id App Reviews

I just got the app and tried with my house plants. It works OK, but needs some fine tuning. You need to know enough to choose the closest match the app comes up with.

Went 0 for 5. Did not work.

I had this app before it updated to its new version and I used it ALL the time! I received individualized, accurate plant identification for difficult varieties and hard-to-depermine characteristics. The newly updated app is VERY POOR in terms of the matches that it makes and as yet to correctly ID a plant for me despite many tries with varied photographs snapped. Too bad.

I live in San Diego, and this app was crap for me. It didnt identify even common plants. When I would try to use the "contact a professional gardener" feature, the emails were kicked back. The app was not useful.

It needs to be more accurate!!!! I was taking pics of plants I dont even know. Like I those cabbage like plants are kohlrabis but turns out theyre kale when I googled it! And this other plant, you tell it was lupines but I googled it too, its not lupines, its snapdragons!! Please fix and upgrade this app and show some more accuracy next time! Youre making me and everyone else feel stupid when you give us the wrong answers!!

Has the ability to find like images but youre probably better off using the google image search where you upload a picture! The ask an expert might work well but its $1.99, which would be fine if the first search was anywhere close to what the picture I put in looked like and I wanted more info. I have a broad leaf plant I am trying to identify and each search yielded plants that looked nothing like it! There were ferns, which were similar in color I suppose, but the leaves are nothing alike!

But few things. since this app has been made ive scanned my plants. For care instructions, Proper names. I would love if someone turn this app into how to care for plants, identifying plants, notifications on when to water plants in our favorite/Owned! ive helped six people on Facebook identify their plans with their photos!! This app has so so so much potential! People would even pay $1.99 or $2.99 if these updates were implemented.. ive asked 12 people and they think my idea for the app is amazing... please use my ideas. Im sure they already are yours too! Really i dont write code, Design, But im great at marketing & knowing what people want!

I have been using this app and never thought about rating it, but it really deserves a good word!! Every time I send them a request for identifying a plant , along with a picture they always answer me within one day most of the time. Its a big help for me, and I think it would be very useful for any gardener. Thanks for providing this helpful app!! Great idea!

What a great app!! Found a tall flower growing all alone on Corp land in the wild. Found out its an oriental poppy.

I submitted 2 pictures of a plant and some comments. I received a personalized response in about 5 hrs. The response commented on specifics of my email. The app only allows you to include 1 picture but you can add more before you send the email. The Ask an Expert feature worked great the 2 or 3 times I used it. Unfortunately, they just started charging $1.99 for each use.

This app is really just what it sounds like. You take a picture of a plant and it tells you what it is. It gives you help on what pests might be hurting your plant and the ideal conditions for taking care of your plant. I dont know why people are complaining; it does just what it was advertised to do :)

Identified my weed and supplied all necessary info to eradicate it !!!

Was unable to correctly identify any of the three plants I individually showed it, including mint, which seems like it would be easy to recognize. Not sure if flowers are required for an accurate identification, but they shouldnt be. Google could give better answers. Great concept, though. If this is improved, it could become a very useful tool.

Ive used this app several times and responses have always been quick and informative.

This is truly amazing I love this program! I take a picture and it sends options of plants to compare if they cant find a comparison I have option to pay or take pictures and can forward my pictures to anyone of my three children. They will stop at a plant shop and get what ever information they can get for me. Being home bound this is an Awesome Application to have. Thank you to all who where involved with its design. Forever Grateful, Karen Ps- I also find plants to add to my garden by looking at the comparisons.

Finding a plant visually sure beats describing it with words and you can always ask an expert if you need the personal touch. A+

I asked a simple question sent a picture they took 72 hours to get back to me when they promised 24. Not a big problem they charged me two dollars, didnt answer my question and did not refund my money when they stated they would. So basically I wasted two dollars. I hope this message save somebody else two dollars.

Had high hopes for this, but its so inaccurate its ridiculous. I know all of my plants in my garden and out of 15 photos, it only identified one correctly. I was hoping to use this to identify some unknown plants that have come up in the garden. Guess Ill have to find another way.
